Last time I grew tobacco, we had to pull the plants out of beds. Hated that!
Did the tobacco companies cancel any contracts up your way? Several were not renewed in this area.(Nelson Co.) One guy had a 200K lb. contract cut to 100K lbs. Ouch! Also heard a prominent farmer/politician in Fayette Co. lost a 700K lb. contract. There is a million plus dollars down the drain.
