On my 8400T the clean oil res. seals to the rear axle housing with gasket compound. If you see the oil light go on when you first start the machine, even if its for an instant, that means that the clean oil res is leaking down into the rear housing. Without that oil to precharge your hyd pumps you run the risk of prematurely losing those pumps which is big $$. The rear PTO housing does hold some hyd lines that could be leaking but I would think that you would have noticed sluggish or irratic steering first for that to be the problem, or so I've been told. Possibly could be a controller malfuntion?? Hope its not too bad for ya.
