Hi Loran,
I have heard of guys having good luck with JB weld or Epoxy. If I remember correctly, you may need to get the polarity right as well. Pretty easy to match existing if you have another magnet. I would use epoxy if it were mine.
BTW, the repairs I have heard from were on Briggs/Kohlers, etc. Worth a try, anyway.
