I'm not sure about that engine but many of the small engines that are branded Cat, supposedly made by Perkins are actually ISM (Shibura) engines, the same as found in many NH compact tractors and skid steers. The ISM model number is cast into the block on the injection pump side... often an 'N844' or some such thing. They also employ unitized Kiki pumps which are set into the engine and directly driven off the engine's cam.
If you know which one you need it may open up a lot more options for finding used or at least a better deal on new...
