Flandreau, SD

My 90 corn/beans is in.  all 12/12 rows and about 10 6/6 row strips.

Almost screwed up and put two 3 row bean plots in on the ends of where the 6/6 are!!   That would have been fun try and combine 7.5 feet wide plot of beans!!   So now I got two 3 row odd ball corn rows out there.

I got pics of the planter with corn and beans in it at the same time, also the jackshaft I made to speed the outside 3 rows up for beans and corn.  got to get them off camera sometime.

Some of the corn strips have 32k on the inside 6 rows and 44k on the outside 3.

Should be a fun year!!    In theory I had 300 lbs N on my strips last year.  But 200 of that was chicken shoot so how much of that was really there?  We just figure half of it.   It got littered again this year also.

I tried some twins rows, double back on 30's, I gave up as corn on corn and my trash wheels just would not allow to double back and have two nice rows 7 inches apart.  I might try again on some nice worked bean stubble with no trash on top.  Only way I can see a double back twin work very good.
