No till corn into alfala is my favorite rotation. If it was a good stand of alfalfa there will likely be no response to any N. A bad stand could use 50 lbs. Fall or early spring burndown is of course prefered but there should be plenty of moisture available this year. Adding a pint of 2.4D will give a lot better results than straight glyphosate. With the wet forecast looking to delay field work, I'd probably get the corn in the ground as soon as possible rather than trying to hay it again but that is up to him of course.
