I have a 27 foot single fold. Used it with a 25' field cultivator, this year we got a 26' and I hope I don't have to drop a couple of shanks, you need the overlap. Standard answer is that you will want the 30'. As to the HP, yes, you do know they are back there. DMI says about 1 HP per foot. If you are maxed out on HP it might drop you a gear.
