Check the fuel tank to see if it has smooth sides or if it has two triangles pressed into each side of the tank.  The smooth side is the old style that is prone to cracking and the stamped side tank is the updated version.  If the boogie wheels have spoked cast iron wheels they are the old style one piece wheels, the newer style are steel two piece wheels with a seperate hub, they will have eight or ten bolts holding the wheel to the hub.  Check the sides of the track guide blocks, you want them to be smooth, if they are rough that means there is a track alignment problem which most likely is an easy fix but if it's been ran like that a long time it's hard on the tracks.
