7000's are good planters, I decided that is what would work the best for me anyhow. They have gotten old and will more than likely need rebuilding before you use it anyway. The rebuilding will get pricey but just keep in mind what a new planter is priced at. Best books are the John Deere "parts" manual, an "operators" manual and the latest SHOUP catalog.
