I will offer a differing opinion from the others. In the operators manual they have a section on the corn meter and if you follow this closely you should have no trouble. I personally don't think it is worth the time to have your meters calibrated since I am never able to buy one size of seed. This year I am planting seed from 35# to 56# per 80000. I have inspected my meters, replaced the brushes and gotten the specified amount of torque to turn the meter. It is planting all of these different seeds within about 700 plants per acre. I don't think you can expect much more than that from this or any other metering system.

One thing that has helped me more than anything is using plenty of graphite. I use about double of what the book recommends and also just don't sprinkle it on top. I mix it up with the seed a little and have been very pleased since I have started this procedure.
