The 230 penetrates fine if you leave about half the angle on the gangs as they are as discs. Won't furrow or invert soil, still throws it up, but that little bit of sideways action makes all the difference in getting it in the ground. Have a neighbor that did a 220, but the biggest problem with them is they only go up to about 18' wide and it's harder to tow a packer behind as you need a swinging hitch of some kind. I used 22" 13 waves from CFC and would put the same back on again. It will amaze you how well it will level, yet still not bring up mud clods....
