Subject: Seed corn incentives - this happening elsewhere?

Mississippi

A seed dealer in the Delta told me today that there was a pitched battle going on in the south Delta on seed corn sales. One large company, he said, was giving farmers seed caddies (is that what you call them?) if they committed to certain buys/terms.

For those of you in the South, this sort of sounded like the old "pyrethroid wars" back before Bt cotton when companies went to great lengths in terms of pricing, incentives and such.

Is this happening elsewhere?
