Conventional herbicide programs ,while more expensive the RR or LL programs, often pencil out very close to that of a RR or LL program once TUA fees are figured into the RR/ LL programs. In other words ( its a here vs there type thing) the TUA fees on the RR/LL programs are roughly equal to the increased cost of herbicides in a convential program. Monsatan got one thing right, they realized that once they got growers hooked on the ease of a RR program, they were unlikely to switch back to conventional systems, regardless of cost. |
