Subject: soybeans in sask

how much residual N is too much for soybeans to not nodulate properly. Why i ask is that last year we planted of canola stubble and nodulated well. net 27bu./ac. which netted better than all our cereals. but this year i have no where to put them but on a piece of new ground that was sown to alfalfa last spring. It was very thin with alfalfa, thick with weeds. I'm from central sask and last year was my first year with beans. I'm going to soil test the ground but was wondering how much N is too much.
