What would you say is a good fall program, John? We don't put any N on in the fall... Do you get any N value in the fall from putting it into bean stubble? It's been too wet for us to get our first shot on this year and we missed it when it was froze because we didn't want to put it on top of the snow. We usually put the second shot on with stream bars late April but the way it's looking it's gonna all go on in one shot.....

Hi Abe,

I was asking questions concerning Why it may effect timing in the spring more than anything.

If Your P Levels are High Like yours are Abe and You maintain a good soil Organic Matter level with good soil Percolation I feel you do not benefit by a Fall application of N-P-K and even can get by with a latter Spring application Most years.

The Best wheat I have seen raised the past 20 plus seasons had No Fall application of N-P-or K applied,

Now many in some regions apply NH3 or AMS in the fall and do very little Top dress the following spring because of the soils ability to Hold, stabilize the N over winter.

The Only reason we pushed to get done this past weekend is because a few years ago we were Top Dressing wheat and Planting corn at the same time so we want to avoid that Situation.
The Wheat and Corn that year did achieve record yields for the specific farms so Coordination of field work more that late application on wheat is more an issue than timing ! In many cases ???

I do think as stated in my post ! North of 70 we have 2 - 3 weeks to get it on for many operations !
