| Evening All - We got a new breeder in the area and on 25 head we had over 50 service calls. The cattle were in heat and he came in the afternoon of the day we noted. Almost every cow was bread 2-3 times and now it appears that out of the 25, i ended up selling 4 that didnt breed after the 3rd time (all cows) and now 6 first time heifers (also bred 3 times) that didnt stick. NEVER had this trouble and I think its more the breeder but he claims its our cattle. The guy before him came once and it stuck. Never had this problem in over 30 yrs of cattle. Thinking the guy wanted more service calls for the money. ANyone else have a trouble like this or is there something medically that I should look into. Ration wise nothing has really changed. So frustrated as we raise purbred fleck simmental and the genetic line we have is dieing out (very large old breed) and have the cattle now that we want and were loosing them. ARGH. Any help appreciated! | |
