Blue Earth, MN | Very good post. We don't use hotshots, whips, paddles or anything of that nature. One thing I do notice, is that since I've been working more off the farm and Dad has been doing 99% of the chores, the cattle treat me as more of an outsider now. I have to gain their trust again. They will, most often, follow him around like puppy dogs. Now, for example, when I try to move a cow to calving pen I need to open the gates and leave the area. They will willing go into it, just not if I'm too close. They all remember the drill, but have some apprehension with me. | |
