Cedar Rapids, Iowa
I learned a long time ago to be skeptical about what marketing/sales people say when it comes to technical information.

The irony is that in all my testing, I've never seen an instance where WAAS or OmniStar was down. I'm sure they do maintenance/have failures, but it's either completely transparent to the users, or it just happens rarely enough that I haven't seen it. On the other hand, 2-4 minutes of downtime late Friday night on the deere system isn't the end of the world. Good opportunity to get out of the tractor and grease stuff/take a piss/stretch/etc.
