I can remember once or twice it was seeded in march, but normally we go as soon as the soil is fit anytime after april 1st. By fit I mean no wet spots and a good mallow seed bed.
some people will push it more but we'll wait unless it gets into May , then we may have to adjust our plan. Never worried about soil temp in mid april.
