IMO, wether its the sp sprayer or the planter, the same physics apply. A mist of fertilizer vs. a stream.

I had been using the streamer bars and a teejet "SJ7" nozzle for my liquid app. Last fall I got stupid and wanted a gallonage that I did not have the right size metering device for, so I used a turbo tee non air induction fan nozzle. I thought I killed the fescue. It burned it to a crisp. The fertilizer mist got all over my booms which I had absolutely no issue with using the streamers.

The only issue I have with the streamers or stream type nozzles is that they drip really bad when transporting the machine. It was said earlier that one should have some sort of compressed air on the machine or some sort of tray under the streamers to blow out the booms or flow the drips off the machinery. If I get an air system on the applicator machine, I'll likely never use anything but streamer bars again.
