Subject: Re: Precision Finger Meters & Keaton seed firmers

I had my kinze's rebuilt five years ago and I also installed the bullet seed tubes at the same time. I was already having my units calibrated before that. My seed spacing improved dramatically. I feel that the part that makes the biggest difference is the tech that runs the test stand. It is a crap shoot. Ask around for someone who knows what to do. Mine are done by a retired farmer who works for a seed rep. He is very picky. Before that I had been to ones that were ok at best. When keatons first came out I put them on. They worked just fine. My next planter got rebounders because of the cost and I liked them real well. I have traded for a newer planter and it has keatons. I expect they will be fine. It also has precision meters and if it didn't I would put them on. The even seed depth is #1 and seed spacing is #2. These add ons help achieve this. Well worth the money.
