Hire someone to drill it. That alfalfa seed is $3.00 -$6.00 a lb. you can get by with 7-10 lb if you drill it. If you do what you want to do you'll need at least 5-10 lbs more per acre or $15-$60 more seed per acre. Also, alfalfa isn't cheap these days. Do it right and you'll get another ton or so per acre per year. or $100 per acre per year. put on enough fertilizer for 4 years of production. use some chemical like persuit or whatever you like.
