Mirage Flats, Northwest NE, 69347 | Investing a little money in some good legal counsel will cost you less than not having it in a situation like this. Find out exactly what your legal rights are, and then move forward. If you have a three year cash leased signed and in place, the landlord should not have the right to demand such changes out of the blue, unless that written lease allows it. If the law is on your side, like it or not, sometimes you have to use it. And yes, there are deadline dates for legally terminating leases, I would think in all states, something else to ask an attorney. But for this year, and at this late date, even if there were something in the terms of the lease that either one of you had not complied with, I would think you're both stuck with each other, if either one was to press the issue legally. We've had, and continue to have, problems with a former renter whose lease was legally terminated in August of 2007, so I know a little bit about this stuff. Talk to a lawyer, and sooner, not later. |
