| My dad used to plant the stuff. He'd plant at least 3/4 of a bushel an acre. I think flax is either 52 or 56 lbs per bushel. Ground needs to be wet when you plant, but it can't rain and crust the surface after planting or it won't come up. It won't tolerate frost either in spring or fall. But then, it doesn't like heat either after it's up. Hard to swath and the swaths roll if it gets windy. I think I remember why I never liked flax and switched to corn and beans.
