Most semis have 4.5-5 ton on the front axle when they are empty. A semi with five axles would gross 40,000, so a legal load would be about 230 bushels of corn. You would have to move the fifth wheel all the way back so no additional weight was put on the steer axle. Does MN offer a harvest overweight permit, or any other harverst exemptions from the weight restrictions?
