We tied into the wires that you are talking about. The problem is (on our 91 series) that there wasn't enough circuit breaker to take it. We put a relay in to switch the extra lights on then ran a battery wire. I still ended up putting an extra circuit breaker in to handle the factory lights because they were tripping on and off.
