| I've separated the marker and the lift hydraulics on my 4 row (used to be wide). That way I get the marker down sooner and all the way every time. I also changed the lift cylinder to single acting since the link to the planter is single acting.
The angle brackets on my marker arms were bent so the marker disk was more flat than on edge. I bent them to stand the disk up more and then braced across the open ends of the brackets with steel rods welded on. They almost make enough mark to steer the tractor. On a 4 row you mark the far wheel, not the center. On my small tractor super easy to follow.
