East Central Iowa
Feds have a new thing where everyone pulling ANY placarded vehicle will have to display a Company name and usdot #. Even if your using your half ton pickup and your a farmer who only stays in the state. So if your pulling a NH3 tank or fuel trailer you need that stuff displayed when your doing pulling those items.
This new stuff will include any truck you use on your farm with a GVWR of more than 10,000lbs. 1 ton truck, straight truck, semi, again even if your not leaving the state ever, you have to get a USDOT # and display it and a company name on both sides of the power unit legible from at least 50ft on the above vehicles. Go to www.fmcsa.dot.gov/registration-licensing/ to register for a free USDOT#.
Same buzz around here, so I picked up a flyer that explains it. By the way it took effect Feb 1st. FYI
