I run an air system with deadheads and a spout on the end to get the grain directed over the spreader.  I have a smaller dryer so it's not like there's heavy flow, but I do get a even job of spreading.  I'm thinking I'd rather have the fines concentrated right down the middle where you can core them out easily.  The way it is now, I end up with columns of bees wings off to the side that are hard to get cooled.  Other guys are taking out spreaders too.  They think they get a good job of spreading just by using the deadheads.
