This reminds me of a tractor I saw as a kid. A near-by farmer had two 2-cylinder JD that had been modified and attached together to create an articulated 4x4. If I remember correctly the front axle was removed from the front tractor and they were connected between the seat area of the front and the front axle area of the rear. There was some sort of linkage/cable system to connect the throttles and clutches together. I think it was controlled from the rear operator station. This was late 70s-early80s when I saw it so I was 8-10 yrs old.
Anyone else seen such a beast? Was it a one off job, or were there kits to do this? Unfortunately the only pics I have of it are in my mind, and I haven't seen one or pictures of one since.
Don duffner of Buxton ND loves those old 2 cyl JD's and has combinations of two and even three coupled together.
