Subject: My Old 96 Tahoe

South of Moline, 67 to NN, West to 56th
My old crate, a 96 Tahoe, is pushing 300,000 miles, I'm sort of getting used to it.

The garage mechanic called today and said the exhaust pipe was split, between the engine and one of the catalytic converters.

The thing is missing one cat converter already but you have to buy the new pipe (very expensive) with the cat converters (2) I'm told.

Shouldn't I be able to buy some cheap headers, have some muffle pipe bent to shape, throw on a couple of cheap mufflers
anf be done with it?

That Tahoe has been to hell and back but it is fun to drive on Lakeshore Drive when I'm in Chicago, even the taxi cab drivers give me a wide berth when I'm changing lanes.
