Subject: Re: planter pto pump use ?

Ive been running a pto pump on my white planter for about 10 years with no problem. The book says if you set the air pressure where you want it at the engine rpm you will use, air pressure is maintained as long as engine rpms stay above 75% of your target. In other words, if you set air pressure at 2 inches at 1600 rpm, it should stay basically the same down to 1200 rpm, as long as pump and motot are in good condition. I know mine has tons of capacity. I can turn the air pressure up to the top of the guage (about 6 inches I think) with the engine idling ,on the 540 shaft.
