It is nothing more than dealer parts return. That is why the box looked like it did. Dealers are allowed to return some of their parts inventory that didn't sell or were ordered by mistake. Your part must have went out and came back a couple of times. Boxes and parts are suppose to be in good shape or the return item gets rejected.
