Anamoose, ND | Go ahead and get the engine. Are you planning on splitting the crankcase yourself? It is not hard to do but you will probably need a tech manual to get it right. I have sent the complete bottom end into the repair shop before to get a new crank installed. Sometimes if you don't know what you are doing this is the best route. I would be wary of buying the cheapest rebuilt cranks on the market, the cranks that come from the Seadoo Clinic cost a little more but they tend to be better quality. Last I remember they were about $450. As far as pistons and rings don't install the crap single ring Ski Doo pistons, don't install Wiesco's either-they run different tolerances and are more prone to cold score if not warmed up properly. I like the MCB kits which use a dual ring piston.
