Thumb of Michigan | First year we grew it for seed, tried to let them get ripe on their own. They weren't quite ripe yet in December, we took them anyway. Since then, we desiccate them a week or so before we wanted to plant them. That generally will be in early August. May have to be more than a week ahead of intended planting if they need to be cleaned. Although we never tried it, swathing might be a very viable alternative to spraying. Basically what I'm getting at is that its up to the grower when they get ripe. | |
