Subject: How to move drive wheel?

NE Kansas
We are building a fertilizer cart to put down dry fert. at same time as anhydros. Also going to pull cart behind corn planter to put down a little starter. We are going to have a mechanical drive so we can switch back and forth between anhydros applicator and planter. Car tire is going to run on 18.4x42`s on cart. Would like to figure out a way to have something electric like a linear accuator to move drive tire on and off of the ground wheel. I don`t think a linear accuator would hold up to being turned of and on at end rows for very long. Fertilizer would also be hard on it. Any one have a better solution? Open to any ideas !!!!!
