Subject: Re: Dump Trailer

Breckenridge, Michigan
If you are going to haul lime, I would think you would definitely what a frame type. A frame type is not as likely to tip over. There is a saying among dump trailer haulers, "There are those that have tipped one over, and there are those who have not YET!" We used liners in our when we grew sugar beets, made a huge difference on how they came out and how high you had tho raise the box to get them all out. I my opinion, the length is going to be determined by how much weight you intend to haul, bridge laws and axle requirements can make a big difference in length. That includes tractor and trailer together also. Here in Michigan we are way different than most states. We can have 11 axles and go up to 160,000 gross. We have 3 34'ers, with 4 axles, 3 close and a 9' spread. We are legal at 101,000. For Lime short better, it doesn't come out well, IT WILL TIP OVER!
