Kansas City area | I think part of it has to do with the revenue potential of those machines. Most (not all but most) buy a piece of equipment because it will help them make money. A sprayer can see a lot of use throughout the year, as you may use it 2-3 times on the same acres and you can cover that ground quickly with a combination of wide booms and higher speeds. A combine only gets used for a couple seasons. Just look at the revenue potential on the custom side. Custom spraying will run $5-7 per acre, because you can cover lots of acres, while $20-30 is more likely charge for a combine. | |
