Subject: Help a Dummy figure out Planter Spacing

Schlegel Farms, Hagerstown Indiana
I'm currently running an odd row splitter planter for beans. Works good unless we have a bean row on last years corn row (no auto steer..can't even get AutoVon to work (lol))

How do the fellows that run even row bean planters set that up ie. a 8 row corn planter followed by a 16 row bean planter (and follow last years corn rows) instead of a 15 row bean planter

Been trying to grasp this on some graph paper, and all I see, is if you move the tractor drawbar...and have one row in the middle of the planter.....and have more rows on one side of center than the other it might work.

Is this how this is done? Does the offset rows cause side draft?

...... TIA ............................Mark
