It is a Caterpillar designed and built transmission, I dare you to find something better. I really haven't heard of transmission problems. The tractor is overbuilt in most areas. As far as ridging, yes they do ridge on turnrows, any tracked tractor will berm, but they pull like a mule through the rest of the field with little if any slippage. Torque is huge in these tractors. The MT is rougher on the road than tires but smoother than most tracked tractors. As far as the recent whining with Agco dropping dealers? There are a few guys throwing the biggest fit over dropping of orange paint, elimination of outdated mom and pop dealerships and the combining of Agco lines into fewer lines. If it were my company I'd do the same. I don't see ANY benefit of the John Deere dealers in MY area located every 15-20 miles. Find a good CAT dealer, they have mobile service trucks capable of servicing almost as much as the full shops some companies like to tout.
