Subject: Re: recommend a good grain moisture tester

Leesburg, Ohio
The portables are very inconsistent in our experience. We have tried tham all.

We have had good results with Steinlite testers. We have a 1948 model (yes, it IS 62 years old!) in the shop that still works great and is very accurate. Also have a 1980 model that we keep in the dryer building. The 1980 model has to be somewhat warm before it will work at all, but is then quite accurate. They can be purchased used for $1000 to $3000 depending on model year.

I have heard good things about the Motomco testers as well.
