Subject: RE: Contract Corn Silage

Lewisburg, PA
For your first time farming I WOULD NOT DEAL WITH a dairy right now. I too was working with a larger dairy for 7 years every thing was good I picked up all there ground sold crops back to them found out I was not aloud to make any money becasue they werent making money. corn was seven dollars two years ago and they stilled wanted it for 4.00 because I was being a greedy bastard for wanting market value. they consumed allof my cash flow so they could survive. It might be totaly wrong with your dairy, but they need your ground for forage. Like someone said above mke it worth it. Price it right then they should plant a cover and spread manure to offset those nutrients they took to feed their cows. Grow your crops and sell them for cash that pays the bills right now not a BIG promise to a new guy on the block. Just my two $ Luke
