NW IL, Mercer County | Not very much in the immediate area, but further west you go towards the Mississippi River, definitely more corn still standing. Standability seems good from what I've seen. We have 130 acres left, 90 of that on some steep hills. Not sure how we will handle that. 6" of snow on the ground now w/no frost under it. Another 1-3" on the way come Wednesday. Have never seen this late of harvest. Thought it was bad in '08 when we finished December 20-something. Looked in the books recently, '07 we were finished up mid-October! | |
