| I called the Illinois Secretary of States' Office and talked for some time with them about farm plate licensing. He told me "as long as I was hauling my own farm materials, there was no state line nor mileage limits on an Illinois issued farm plate. He claimed all neighboring states recognize Illinois' farm plate except for Minnesota. I would need to apply for a permit to haul my products on Illinois farm plates there, but it was attainable.
Now... if you believe everything coming out of a government office in Illinois, you are more gullible than I am, but the guy was a very confident-sounding representative of that office. He never stuttered, sounded confused or doubtful. Actually got the feeling he thought I had asked a silly question.
