You need a minimum JD 7000 or White 5100, have seen 4 row planters around $1,000. Helped one local like your friend do that. You really got to go slow and watch what you are doing as the learning curve is steep but he should know how after raising veggies. Might be cheaper to get another guy to do it or rent a planter off the lot and see how you turn out. Weed control and lime and fertilizer is a biggie on converting pasture land but it has been done many time.
