Northeast, Iowa | Wind gusts paired with a little different soil is what I believe may be the problem (lay of the land, ie side hill brunt of the wind). The soil may be mapped the same, but is it????? Get a heavier gust in one spot and not in another paired with soil moisture and compisition, and look out. Early moisture and plenty of it = shallower roots, alot of different situations.
