Ask your custom operator to spray crossways. There will be much less crop damage. Some fields it does not work to do it that way, but in larger fields it does help. The other option is to do your own spraying.
Should it not be the responsibility of the custom applicator to follow the rows? If they say they can't do it, tell them that if they want your business to purchase equipment which can follow rows?
