We had Headline/insecticide flown on 80A of a 160A bean field this yr. Total cost of $29/A. We gained 3.0 bu/A in the Headline/insecticide area. Today beans are $10.14/bu. Would you gamble it again next yr?
Moisture difference was negligable.
of course, That is your choice Ron
Now many that have done split applications, Isolated ! side by side say the insecticide creates the most bang for the $$$
But ironically ! what you saw lines up with independent and University plot work the past 15 to 20 years
Think back, when corn was $2. not much was said. but 3 years ago there was a HUGE marketing effort by the Fungicide Co's to capture some of the farmers $$$$ with 4-5 corn and $10 Plus beans.
