Hay Wilson in TX

Subject: IMHO it all depends.

Little River, TX
If you are putting the Phosphate down in a narrow band near the seed trench - No.
If you are putting it down with some extra ammonium fertilizer - No.

If you have a calcareous soil with a high pH, and a high percentage of free calcium carbonate - Possibly Yes.

If you have a moderately high calcium level in you soil, and will put a little extra phsophates down to compensate - more than likely No.

The real answer is for you to figure out for your soil, and management style.
For a pop up situation, personally I would put down an additional 10% maybe 20% extra phosphate fertilizer at a lower cost.
