If you are pulling air out and get just the right sized leak in your floor or duct, (settling as the grain dries has a lot of force) grain will be drawn out to the fan. The fan will grind it on the way past and you will have a large amount of ground grain outside of the fan. Otherwise, it doesn't matter much. Maybe, in an older dark colored bin, there is a fair amount of solar heat above the grain. That is of some drying value to pull it down through the grain. To me, it ain't worth it.
